1 year Certificate program in Ship Building & Repair
For students with pass in 3 year Poly Tech Diploma in any stream
Course Objective:
The programme is designed to educate and train the students in Shipping Technology with a view to perform multi functions in shipping Industry.
Programme Structure:
The programme will have two semesters. The programme is designed as a combination of Lecture, Practicals at workshops, Ship visit and attachment at a shipyard.
Entry Requirements:
Candidate will have to satisfy the entry requirement of a pass in 3year Diploma course in any stream.
Intake Strength:
There will be only 20 students in one batch to ensure individual attention and skill development.
Course Curriculum:
The course is practical oriented with specialization in Ship design, Production and Repairs. Curriculum also have courses in Engineering Graphics, Mechanics, Materials, Machinery, Marine Electrical & Electronics, Industrial Management, CAD, Ship drawing, Ship construction, Machinery installation and Seamanship. Course is of two semesters. 70% of the course is for practical skill development. Three weeks training at Shipyard.
Employment Potential:
The course curriculum covers industry requirements for employment in Shipyards and Marine related industries such as Oil & Gas, Offshore, Ports & Harbours, Classification societies, equipment manufacturers & service, Merchant Navy etc in India and abroad. This program will provide huge employment opportunity to the young generation. Their work criteria changes according to the type and domain of the company they are working with. As the industrial sector has drastically risen in pace and technology the need for more technically trained professionals has increased exponentially.
